And you thought Rosa Parks was the only bus boycott heroine? Her pivotal role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott when she refused to give her seat up to whites certainly earned her the honour of "the first lady of civil rights", but other women were prepared to take a stand too. Parks' move sparked the boycott, but there was concern that her case would become ensnared in the courts of the state of Alabama. So Mary Louise Smith, Aurelia Browder, Claudette Colvin and Susie McDonald, also victims of the discrimination, brought a case in 1956 challenging the segregation rules as being against the US constitution. And they won. This tea towel celebrates all of these heroines and the role they played in ending such barbaric practices.

Half Panama unbleached organic cotton (heavy weight, textured finish). Stitched on all four sides. Includes hanging loop. Measures approximately 48cm x 70cm. Machine wash at 40 degrees centigrade max. We recommend that before you use your tea towel for the first time you wash it at least once to soften up the material and make it more absorbent for drying dishes. Please note size can vary slightly.
