Women's March Christmas cards pack of 8

The image on this Christmas card is based on the cover of the 1911 song sheet of 'The March of the Women', the anthem for the British Suffragettes composed by Ethel Smyth. The march replaced the Women's Marseillaise as the official Women's Social and Political Union anthem. When Smyth was imprisoned for smashing the window of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, she was reportedly seen conducting the anthem with her toothbrush from a window of Holloway Prison with fellow activists singing in the courtyard below. The illustration is by Margaret Morris (1891-1980) who, as well as being a designer and a member of the suffrage movement, was a prominent dancer, choreographer and teacher.

Pack of 8 cards, with matching envelopes made of recycled paper. The cards are printed on FSC certified board which is manufactured from fibre sourced from sustainably managed Swedish forests, the most environmentally friendly option available (we don't use recycled board because that has to be bleached with harmful chemicals). The cards measure approx 4.1in x 5.8in (A6) and envelopes measure approx 6.4in x 4.5in (C6). Message inside: Seasons Greetings.
