William Morris (1834 - 1896) was an English textile designer, poet, novelist and translator who played a significant role in propagating the early socialist movement in Britain. This card is based on a detail from the East window of St James's Church in Staveley, Cumbria, UK, which was manufactured by William Morris and Co. The words are from 'Masters in this Hall' a carol written by Morris.
